Altrusa Club Learns About Heartline Pregnancy Center
KOSCIUSKO — At the Altrusa Club’s Nov. 1, meeting, Alyx Bates, director of operations for Heartline Pregnancy Center, shared information about the programs provided by that organization, located at the K21 Health Pavilion near the KCH.
For 39 years the organization has served the community and now boasts seven employees. In addition to determining viable pregnancies and setting due dates, the group provides parenting classes, a father’s program, and help for those who have lost infants. They also provide BABE’s Boutique, run by volunteers. To learn more about the organization, go to www.heartlinepregnancycenter.org.
Two visitors, Paula Shalley and Cathy Cox, joined members at their last meeting. The club’s next meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Richard’s Restaurant. Anyone interested in participating in service projects in the Kosciusko County area are encouraged to attend.
The club just completed its largest service project, Bingo for Beaman Home, which grossed $16,000 with all proceeds benefitting Beaman Home’s programs and services. Work has just begun on the club’s third annual spring bazaar scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2019.
