North Webster American Legion To Honor Veterans
NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster American Legion Post 253 invites the public to honor veterans.
Veterans Day is Sunday, Nov. 11, and the North Webster Legion Color Guard will honor all veterans at the following times and locations.
• 8 a.m. Oswego Cemetery
• 8:30 a.m. Mock Cemetery
• 9 a.m. Salem Cemetery
• 9:30 a.m. Oak Grove Cemetery
• 10 a.m. North Webster Post 253
• 11 a.m. North Webster Cemetery
North Webster American Legion Post 253 invites all veterans and their families to attend any of the Veterans Day ceremonies Sunday, Nov. 11. Breakfast will be served at the Legion starting at 7 a.m. until gone. The Legion also will serve ham and beans and corn bread to all veterans and their guests, starting at noon at the Legion Post. Ham and beans and corn bread will be served until gone.
At 2 p.m. the Lakeland Quilt Club will have a Quilt of Valor presentation, nine veterans from Post 253 will be presented a hand made quilt in honor of their service to the country. Russ Chandler, veteran and Post 253 member will entertain guests and members starting at 3:30 p.m.
Just a few other things that are happening at the Legion is at 6 p.m. euchre every Tuesday along with the Stars & Stripes Raffle at 7 p.m. Come to the Legion early and enjoy 50 cent wings and buy raffle tickets, Junior Shooters at 6 p.m. and Wii Bowling at 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday, and bingo with early bird starting at 6 p.m. every Thursday. All of these events are open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend.
The Legion will be holding a paddle auction fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 10. Tickets for the event are available at the Legion. This is open to the public. The Marine Corps will celebrate their birthday with a ceremony at 6 p.m. at the Legion, all Marines and families are encouraged to attend.

The Ladies Auxiliary will be taking over the kitchen and will host an all you care to eat pizza buffet from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, and the pizza buffet will be available again from noon to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18.
The Sons of the Legion will serve one-half pound hamburgers from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17. They will also be serving fish dinners or a soup and salad combo meal Friday, Nov. 23.
Did you know you can come to the Legion for a free home cooked traditional Thanksgiving dinner? The public is invited to this freewill donation dinner starting at noon, and food will be served until 3 p.m. or gone. Bring a non-perishable item to support the North Webster Food Pantry.
Speaking of lunch, did you know the Legion serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday – Friday? Stop by for one of their comfort food lunch specials.
