North Manchester Public Library Awarded LSTA Grant
NORTH MANCHESTER — The North Manchester Public Library has received a grant in the amount of $7,099 to purchase a new microfilm machine for its Indiana Room.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer enhanced viewing of our microfilm to of our patrons,” stated Amy Acree, director of the North Manchester Public Library. “The purchase of this microfilm machine improves our ability to provide quality genealogy and local history research.”
This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Indiana State Library.
The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 123,000 libraries and 35,000 museums. This is the second consecutive year that the North Manchester Public Library has been a recipient of an LSTA grant. The library received a grant in 2017 for a mobile learning lab.
The North Manchester Public Library hopes to have the microfilm machine available to patrons by the beginning of 2019. To look for updates or to learn about other services at the North Manchester Public Library, visit www.nman.lib.in.us or follow the library on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
