Caucus Called For North Webster Town Council
NORTH WEBSTER — A caucus has been called for 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, to fill a vacancy in the office of North Webster Town Council. The caucus is due to the death of Jon Sroufe, council member.
The caucus will be held in the North Webster Community Center, town council chambers. The caucus will be comprised of members of the Republican precinct committeemen of Tippecanoe Township, specifically Precincts 1 and 2, who have served continuously from 30 days before the date of the start of the caucus.
Eligible candidates must be a Republican in good standing and have no felony record, reside within the town limits of North Webster and are at least 18 years of age. Candidates can file their declaration of candidacy with the Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee Chairman Michael Ragan no later than 72 hours before the caucus.
Declarations of candidacy are available at the county clerk’s office, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw.
Each candidate will be given a maximum of three minutes to address the voting caucus.
The council member will be elected by secret ballot of the majority of members of the caucus.
