KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — The Wawasee FFA Dairy Judging Team recently competed in the 50th anniversary of the Invitational Youth Dairy Cattle Judging Contest in Harrisburg, Pa. Team members were Evan Coblentz, Kayla Estrada, Logan Hollar and Jackson Templin.

The team finished fourth overall in the FFA division. As a team they were first in Guernseys, second in brown Swiss, and fourth in Holsteins, Jerseys and oral reasons. Only 10 points separated the top four teams.

Individually Jackson Templin was second high individual overall and first in Guernseys, second in Holsteins and seventh in brown Swiss. Evan Coblentz was fifth high individual overall, second in oral reasons, fourth in both brown Swiss and Guernseys, and eighth in Holsteins.

Contestants judged 10 classes of cattle in five breeds and then gave oral reasons on three classes. The top five individuals and teams were recognized in each division for specific breed performance, oral reasons and overall results.
