Warsaw Man Arrested For Criminal Confinement, Strangulation, Intimidation With A Weapon
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after battering and strangling a female. He then refused to let the female leave and held a gun to her head.
Samuel Romero, 32, 1861 N. Vicky Lane, Warsaw, is being charged with criminal confinement, a level 3 felony; intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; strangulation, a level 6 felony; domestic battery with moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 26, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a battery complaint at Shamrock Mobile Home Park. A female victim advised that Romero struck her on the head, strangled her, stopped her from leaving the residence and held a gun to her head.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Romero became angry and climbed on top of the female. The female advised that Romero struck her on her head, put both hands around her neck and squeezed. The female told the officer that she attempted to leave the residence several times, but Romero stopped her each time by sitting on her or blocking the door.
The female told the officer that Romero pinned her down on the bed and pointed a gun at her head. Romero eventually laid the gun down but then picked it up one more time and pointed it at her.
The officer was able to observe and photograph a mark on the victim’s neck and a bruise behind her ear.
Romero was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Sept. 11, with a $40,250 surety and cash bond.
