Juvenile In Custody Following Stabbing
SYRACUSE — John Manges, 34, Syracuse, was taken to Goshen General Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries following a stabbing at 529 Prairie Drive, Syracuse, Wednesday evening, Aug. 22.
His alleged assailant, a 13-year-old male juvenile, was taken to the Juvenile Justice Detention Center, South Bend.
Syracuse Police were called to the residence at 7:43 p.m. When officers arrived they were able to determine a 13-year-old male had slashed Manges after a brief altercation. Police also learned Manges had left the scene and was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.
Police interviewed the parties involved and took the juvenile into custody.
Syracuse Police Department was assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, North Webster Police Department and Kosciusko County Probation Department.
