KOSCIUSKO — A man was arrested after giving alcohol to a female minor and having sex with her.
Scott Allen Diggs, 40, 25183 Cole St., Roseville, Mich., is being charged with child seduction, a level 5 felony; and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a class A misdemeanor.
On Aug. 4, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a sexual assault report at Jellystone Campground in Pierceton.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer spoke with a female subject. She advised she and Diggs have had a female minor in their care since September 2017. The female subject had spent the night with family members while Diggs and the minor stayed at the camper. When the female subject awakened in the morning, she saw messages from the minor saying that Diggs had her drink alcoholic beverages and that they had sex.
The officer spoke with the minor, who said Diggs gave her beer and shots of liquor. She got sick and went into the bathroom. Diggs entered the bathroom and held her hair back while she was sick. The minor went to a bedroom and laid down. She became sick again and went back to the bathroom. Diggs followed her and began rubbing her leg, unbuttoning her jean shorts.
When she was done being sick, the minor went to lay down and Diggs followed her. He fondled her and removed all of his clothing. He began having sex with her and the minor told him to stop. When Diggs was done, the minor told him it was wrong.
Diggs admitted he gave alcohol to the minor. He told the officer he apologized to the minor and that it would never happen again.
He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 22, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
