SILVER LAKE — A Silver Lake man was recently arrested for child molestation. Evidence shows he transmitted Chlamydia to his minor victim.

Trey Michael Burbank
Trey Michael Burbank, 25, 11144 S. County Farm Road, Silver Lake, is being charged with child molestation, a level 1 felony.
On June 11, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a local hospital in regards to a possible child molestation. A minor female told officers that Burbank had been molesting her for a long period of time.
The minor was cleared by the hospital and taken to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department for an interview. The minor told officers that she used Facebook to tell her parents that Burbank had been raping her at night. She told officers that Burbank touches her inappropriately and had sex with her on multiple occasions. She stated that the first time occurred on Dec. 2, 2017, and continued through June 2018. According to the minor, the inappropriate acts occurred in his bedroom at his Silver Lake residence and in a camper.
On June 12, the minor had a follow-up appointment with the Fort Wayne Sexual Assualt Center. The minor tested positive for Chlamydia, a sexually transmitted disease.
Burbank submitted to a Chlamydia test on July 14, and tested positive. Burbank stated that the minor must have contracted Chlamydia from using sex toys. A doctor advised that Chlamydia is a weak virus and it does not live long outside of the body. She advised it is highly unlikely for the minor to have contracted Chlamydia from using a sex toy.
Burbank was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 9, with a $50,250 surety and cash bond.
