Girls Golf Results: Aug. 4
EAST NOBLE INVITATIONAL
NorthWood and Warsaw were both among the field at the East Noble Invitational on Saturday, and both earned top three team finishes as the Lady Panthers carded 354 for a runner-up finish, and the Tigers were close behind with a 359 score for a third-place finish at Noble Hawk Golf Links. Huntington North fired a 348 to top the team standings.
Leading a consistent NorthWood lineup was Makenna Gall with an 87, followed by Breanna Goss with an 88, Kylee Gall with an 89 and Abigail Richner with a 90 as the Panthers’ top four all finished within three strokes of one another.
Three seniors shot personal-best rounds for the Tigers, meanwhile, as Madelyn Ray fired an 85 for fifth place individually, Miriam Hagg shot 88, and Julia Hildebrand shot 95. Izzy Ray shot 91, and Grayson Kilburn carded 95 for Warsaw.
Warsaw and NorthWood both take the field at the Canterbury Invitational Monday with play scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at Chestnut Hills in Fort Wayne.
IHSAA STATE PREVIEW MEET
NorthWood golf also entered a team at the IHSAA State Preview at Prairie View Golf Club Saturday, where the Lady Panthers turned in a 372 score for 15th place among the elite field. Zionsville collected a 308 for the team championship, followed by Evansville North’s 313 and Carmel’s 314. Culver Academy was also among the elite field and carded 342 for eighth place.
Pacing the Panthers was Cybil Stillson with an 82, and MacKenzie Weaver finished two strokes back with an 84. Abby Slabaugh and Delaney Davis turned in a pair of 103s to complete NorthWood’s score, and Kirsten Schrock’s 107 was the team’s fifth score.
