August Programs For Adults And Teens At WCPL
WARSAW — The following adult and teen programs are set to take place in August at the Warsaw Community Public Library.
Drop In Zone, featuring video games, virtual reality and snacks, is Wednesday, Aug. 1. Teens in grades 6- 12 play from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., and adults, ages 18 and older, play from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.
Chess Club meets from 10 a.m. to noon every Saturday. This group invites chess players of all experience levels to join them.
Cookbook Club meets at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6. This month’s topic is, “Farmers Market Finds.” Attendees are invited to find something at a local farmer’s market and create a recipe with it.
Friends of the Library meet at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6.
Join Susie Schaetzle at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, for Creative Canvas. Schaetzle will lead participants in creating a summery flower painting. Register.
Computer Clinic meets from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, and from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29. Bring your tablet, laptop, smartphone or any other technology for assistance.
Sheila Ronk will lead participants in creating a make it, take it flip-flop door hanger, beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9. Participants must register for this event.
For those who wish to learn how to use a sewing machine, a sewing machine basics class for beginners is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9. Registration is required.
The Lake City Piecemakers quilt club meets at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10.
Friends of the Library mini book sale is from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 and Saturday, Aug. 25.
Writers Club meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13. Write a mystery or detective-themed piece and bring it to share. This can be a short story, poem, song lyrics or another original, written work.
Board Game Club meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18. Adults meet to play games of strategy.
Learn to make a tranquil mountain lake scene during Paint with Carl Mosher, set for 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20. Registration is required.
Registered Nutritionist/Dietitian, Sue Delagrange presents her next nutrition program at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27.
Faith Ketterer will lead her next card making class at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27. Registration required. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to play Minecraft at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28.
