Rochester Man Arrested For Dealing Meth
KOSCIUSKO — A Rochester man was arrested after officers discovered 41 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle.
Todd Kenneth Vaughn, 53, 4785 W. CR 475N, Rochester, is being charged with dealing in methamphetamine, a level 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 3 felony; possession of a legend drug, a level 6 felony; possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; and possession of marijuana sentence enhancement, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 23, an officer with the Nappanee Police Department responded to a report of an intoxicated driver traveling north on SR 19 toward Nappanee.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer followed the vehicle as it quickly pulled into the parking lot of a business. The officer followed the male driver into the business and identified him as Vaughn.
Vaughn had an active arrest warrant for probation violation for dealing methamphetamine in Elkhart County Superior Court 3. He arrested Vaughn on the warrant.
Officers completed an inventory search of Vaughn’s vehicle and found three plastic bags that contained methamphetamine, weighing 41 grams. Officers also found a plastic bag that contained two grams of marijuana. During the search, officers found several empty plastic bags, three glass smoking devices and three white pills that were identified as a legend drug. The type of plastic bags found are used for packaging illegal drugs for sale.
An officer with the Nappanee Police Department spoke with Vaughn, who was fidgeting and having difficulty standing still. It appeared that Vaughn was under the influence of a stimulant.
While being transported to Kosciusko County Jail, Vaughn admitted he was dealing methamphetamine.
Vaughn was booked on July 23, with a $25,250 surety and cash bond.
