WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for rape and sexual misconduct with a minor female.
Brandon Gregory Nissley, 21, 111 Canterbury Lane, Warsaw, is being charged with rape, a level 3 felony; and sexual misconduct with a minor, a level 4 felony.
On July 23, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department conducted a traffic stop in regards to a vehicle not dimming its lights. Two minor females and Nissley were located inside the vehicle. The driver told the officer that she witnessed Nissley rape her friend, the other minor female in the vehicle.
The officer asked the victim if there was anything she would like to report. She told the officer that Nissley had raped her around July 4. The responding officer and an additional officer then conducted an official interview with the victim.
The victim advised that she was spending the night with her friend, the female in the vehicle, around July 4. Both the females were sleeping on opposite sides of the same couch. Sometime between 2 and 3 a.m., the victim was awakened by Nissley raping her. The victim stated she told Nissley to stop multiple times and attempted to fight him off. At this point, the victim’s friend woke up and also told Nissley to stop. The victim was then able to get away and ran out of the house.
The officers conducted an interview with Nissley. Nissley advised that he “struggles with pornography and social media.” He told officers that he knew the female was a minor and that he raped her. Nissley wrote a handwritten apology to the victim stating he was sorry for what he did.
Nissley told the minor female that if she went to the police he would tell them she had been drinking that night. He also sent the victim’s friend a text messages stating that if she told the police he would beat her up and tell the police she stole liquor.
Nissley was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on July 23, with a $20,250 surety and cash bond.
