Syracuse Public Library Announces Upcoming Events
SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Public Library will host the following events in July:
The Friends Sponsor Many Activities Throughout The Year
The Friends of the Syracuse Library are appreciated for their financial support and their active involvement in library activities. Guests to the library will meet some members at FrankenHowl Open Mic Night at 6 p.m. Friday, July 20, at the park. They manage the used book sale and are offering a book sale promotion at the Parker Solar Probe Garden party. Drinks and cookies will be provided when all ages are invited to learn about the mission to the sun. The event coincides with the community-wide garage sales from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3.
The Friends are assisting with the sale of bus trip tickets for the day in Grand Rapids. The Sept. 22 trip is going to the Meijer Gardens and downtown Grand Rapids for the first weekend of ArtPrize.
A Penultimate Week
Rocking at the library summer reading program for children and teens officially ends on July 31. Professor Steve is the finale program at 2 p.m. that day. The week of July 23 through the 27 is the last full week of children’s activities. A Scottish Tea Time at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26, comes with a romp with music from “Brave.”
The teen programs have hit a regular stride when anime fan club meets at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 26. Other monthly teen times are for video gaming night and Harry Potter crafts.
Chair yoga continues to welcome people for a half hour workout at 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. Thursdays, and at 10:30 a.m. on the second to fifth Thursdays. The 10:30 a.m. Thursday class meets at the community center and is particularly good for individuals with disabilities.
WorkOne, a free resource for job and training connections, is offered from 1 to 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday at the Syracuse Library.
