Muncie Man Arrested After Stealing Vehicle From Tom Farms
KOSCIUSKO — A Muncie man was arrested after stealing a vehicle from Tom Farms.
Elijah Gage Labordus, 22, 2203 W. Cambridge Drive, Muncie, is being charged with auto theft, a level 6 felony; and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
On June 29, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department spoke with a Tom Farms employee. The employee said an unknown subject stole Tom Farms white 2007 Jeep Cherokee.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the employee contacted police and advised that a male had observed the vehicle in the Oswego area. Officers responded to the area and conducted a traffic stop at CR 450E in Kosciusko County.
Officers identified the driver as Labordus. Upon searching the vehicle, officers found a vial that contained marijuana. Labordus told officers he obtained the marijuana from a medical marijuana dispensary in Michigan. He advised he purchased the vehicle for $2,500 from an unknown person.
Labordus has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance. He has an initial hearing date at 8:15 a.m. July 26, in Kosciusko Superior Two Court.
