Warsaw Woman Arrested For Big R Theft, Possession Of Syringes
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested for stealing clothing from Big R and possessing syringes.
Alexis Erin Davies, 34, 939 E. Garfield St., Warsaw, is being charged with possession of a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony; possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony; theft, a class A misdemeanor; sentence enhancement theft, an enhancement level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On May 8, officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a theft at Big R. Dispatch advised that Big R employees had followed the suspect to Village Mobile Home Park.
Big R employees said Davies walked past all points of pay, causing the security alarm to ring. Davies left the store. She stole various clothing items valued at $97.40.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, when officers went to a mobile home at the park, they were greeted by a female that didn’t match the suspect’s description. The female stated that a subject, later identified as Davies, ran into the residence and was in the back room.
Officers arrested Davies and searched her bags, finding an eyeglass container that contained four syringes, two metal spoons with residue and two cotton swab tips. The spoons and the plunger on one of the syringes field tested positive for heroin.
Officers then spoke with the female who allowed them into the residence. They asked her to look for clothing in the residence that didn’t belong to her. The female discovered clothing under the bathroom sink. The clothing matched the description of the items stolen from Big R.
Davies was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 10, with a $10,500 surety and cash bond.
