Warsaw Man Arrested After Strangling Female

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after he strangled a female.
Richard L. Mounts, 39, 665 W. Jefferson St., Warsaw, is being charged with strangulation, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On June 23, officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a report of domestic battery.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers spoke with a female who stated Mounts became angry and called her names. He then grabbed her by the throat with both hands and threw her to the ground, choking her.
Officers noticed that the female had red marks on both sides of her neck and chest. Officers also spoke with a male who was in the residence when the domestic battery occurred. When the male looked outside, he saw Mounts throw the female into a fence.
Mounts was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 8, with a $10,500 surety and cash bond.
