Hearing Date Set For Property On Fisher Avenue
WARSAW — A hearing date has been set for one of the properties discussed at the code enforcement hearing held yesterday, June 26.
The property at 1627 Fisher Ave., Warsaw, is owned by Brad Eberly and rented by a tenant. Eberly and the tenants have a court hearing at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, regarding a nuisance statute. The property has had code violations since early 2017, including debris outside the residence and unplated vehicles.
The property was continued until the next code enforcement hearing on Aug. 7.
Three new properties were on this month’s docket, including a property at 1015 E. Main St., owned by Jason and Bobby Wade.
Code Enforcement Officer Dana Hewitt stated that since November 2017, there have been enormous amounts of trash and clutter at the residence, including several vehicles. Police had been called to the residence regarding open burning.
“The property has just gone from bad to worse,” said Hewitt.
Jason Wade was present at the meeting and showed pictures of the property to Hearing Officer Thomas Earhart. Wade stated that the property recently sustained flooding and that he was still in the process of moving items. The property was continued until the hearing on Aug. 7.
Adessa Williams, owner of the property at 2119 Hendricks St., Warsaw, was present at the meeting regarding an appearance issue. Williams stated that he used to do a lot of scrapping and that people would bring items for him to fix. However, he doesn’t do that as often now, yet people still bring items to the property’s yard.
Earhart recommended that Williams place a sign at his property stating that there’s no dumping at the residence so that people will stop leaving items there. The property was continued until the next hearing.
Stephen Davis, owner of the property at 620 N. Union St., Warsaw, was present at the meeting regarding repairs and potential hazards at the residence. The residence is a rental property.
Firefighters had recently responded to a fire call at the residence after a mattress fire. Since then, the tenants have lived in a trailer provided by Davis due to the fire. Davis stated that the property has been sold, but the former tenants still have remaining items in the residence. The tenants are aware that the property is sold.
The property was continued until the next hearing for an update on the purchase. Davis also thanked the fire department for their quick response to the fire.
