Warsaw Man Arrested After Overdosing In Dollar General Parking Lot
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after officers reported to a possible overdose and discovered drugs in a vehicle.
Adam DeWayne Gibbs, 23, 3652 S. Bruner Road, Warsaw, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine enhancing circumstances, a level 5 felony; possession of a narcotic drug enhancing circumstances, a level 5 felony; possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On June 12, officers with the Warsaw Police Department were dispatched to assist with an EMS call and possible overdose at Dollar General.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, when first responders arrived, Gibbs was passed out and unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. When officers arrived to the scene, Gibbs was in the back of an ambulance being attended to by medics.
Officers noticed in plain view a black felt bag with syringes protruding through it and a silver spoon with white residue in Gibbs’ vehicle.
When Gibbs’ pockets were emptied, officers discovered a white cut pen that tested positive for heroin. Officers also discovered three plastic tubes and a crystal like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
While searching Gibbs’ vehicle, officers discovered a shotgun, two syringes and a cut straw that tested positive for heroin.
Gibbs has an active criminal proceeding for possession of methamphetamine, theft and carrying a handgun without a license in Kosciusko County Circuit Court.
He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on June 12, with a $12,250 surety and cash bond.
