Evening Of Environmental Learning Presented By The Watershed Foundation
COLUMBIA CITY — Join The Watershed Foundation for two amazing presentations Tuesday evening, June 12, at the Big Lake Church of God, Corner of SR 109 and CR 600/700 in Columbia City.
The event will begin with a meet and greet, light supper at 6:30 p.m., followed by two programs at 7 p.m..
Tom Hartzell, coordinator for residential programs and environmental science educator at the Merry Lea Center for Environmental Learning of Goshen College, will lead the first program “Why Wetlands?” Across Indiana, 85 percent of our natural wetlands have been drained to facilitate farming, transportation and development. Still, many wetlands remain in northern Indiana. What is the value of our wetlands?
Next, enjoy the program “Watershed Sampling: Past, Present and Future” as Lyn Crighton, of The Watershed Foundation, explains trends found by sampling our streams for many years. What do these data tell us about the health of our watershed and what is being done to protect our land and lakes?
This evening of fun and learning is free and open to the public. For More Info, call (574) 834-3242.
