Chamber Opens Up Usage Of Sign To Non-Members
NORTH WEBSTER — Window stickers, usage of the chamber sign and Dixie Day banners were among the topics discussed at the monthly meeting of the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce board Monday, June 11.
Board members met at noon in the Tippecanoe Township Building to discuss business items for the month.
The board voted to open up the usage of the chamber sign at the south end of town to non-members, at a $100 per week fee, when available. Non-profit groups or chamber members would receive priority. Non-members will also be encouraged to join the chamber at the time the request is made to use the sign. Those wishing to use the sign can contact Linda Land at (574) 453-8564.
Purchase of window stickers for all chamber members was also approved. The stickers will be distributed for the 2019 membership. In a similar discussion, board members approved the new membership auto renewal form that will be sent out this year. Membership will now be automatically renewed, unless the member notifies the chamber differently. Members will no longer need to fill out a new application each year, unless changes are needed. Members will also be automatically billed for membership dues.
Terry Frederick presented a proof of the banners designed by Maverick for Dixie Day. The banners will be placed at the driving range on the north end of town and another at the chamber sign on the south end of town.
During other matters it was noted flower pots have been placed in town and businesses that have them in front of their location have agreed to keep them watered. Board members also approved the purchase of the Quickbooks desktop version instead of the online version. The cost is $299.95 for the desktop version, which is preferred by the accountant.
The desktop version will be purchased at the end of the year when the 2019 version is available. Currently the online version is $35 per month, with a special of $17 per month for the first six months.
It was noted the problems with the website have been fixed and items can now be updated.
Members of the Dixie Day Committee met immediately after the regular meeting.
