Arlene Valentine
Arlene Valentine, 84, Pierceton passed away at 9:30 p.m., June 10, 2018, in Mason’s Health and Rehabilitation in Warsaw.
She was born on Jan. 24, 1934, in Kosciusko County to Asher and Grace Leota (Lepley) Carper. On Feb. 3, 1951, in Warsaw she was united in marriage to Leroy E. Valentine who preceded her in death.
A lifetime Pierceton resident she worked as a dispatcher for the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department from 1982 until her retirement. She had previously been a volunteer for Pierceton EMS and was a past board member of the Pierceton Town Board. She was a former member of the Kosciusko County F.O.P. Lodge 149 and attended North Winona Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her daughters: Margaret Ward of Churubusco; Janet (spouse Tim) Meloy of Pierceton; and Leslie Valentine of Warsaw; and her son, Terrance (Penny) Valentine of Warsaw. She is also survived by her sister; Betty Curtis of Warsaw and six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild
She was preceded by her husband and four brothers and one sister
Visitation hours are scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 14, in the Warsaw Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
