CLAYPOOL — Kosciusko County officials are currently investigating a two vehicle traffic crash on SR 15 at CR 550S, near Claypool. One female subject is in critical condition in Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne from injuries sustained in the collision.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency personnel responded at approximately 6:15 p.m. The crash involved a north bound 2013 silver Toyota which was traveling into the south bound lane, causing a head on collision. The south bound vehicle was a 2018 Red Freightliner with a tanker trailer.

The operator of the 2013 Toyota was identified as Ella Taylor, 59, Warsaw. Taylor was transported to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne for treatment of her injuries, which were extensive extremity injuries. She is currently listed in critical condition at Lutheran Hospital.

The operator of the 2018 Freightliner was not injured in the collision and signed off at the scene for medical attention. The operator of the Freightliner was identified as Markus Dean, 47, Lake Village.

Officers stated that the crash is still currently under investigation.  The Kosciusko County Fatal Team was assisted at the scene by members of the Claypool Fire Department, Warsaw Fire Department,  Lutheran E.M.S., Lutheran Air Ambulance, the Winona Lake Police Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
