BREAKING — Two injured In SR 25 Accident
WARSAW — Two people suffered injuries, at least one seriously, in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of SR 25 and CR 100S late Friday morning, June 8.
Emergency responders were called at 10:57 a.m. and arrived at the scene by 11:05 a.m. Responding were multiple units from the Warsaw Fire Department as well as officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Warsaw Police.
Police were still investigating the accident and did not know the exact cause of the collision between a female driver of a blue-green Ford Escort LX station wagon and a female driver of a maroon Chevrolet Tahoe sport utility vehicle. One of the drivers was unconscious at the scene and was transported by ambulance to a Fort Wayne hospital. The other driver was being treated at the scene and officials said it was not decided yet whether or not she would be taken to a hospital.
Officials on scene asked for a medical helicopter, but due to the weather no helicopters could fly. Emergency responders worked through intermittent rainfall to assess the accident and tend to the victims. The collision caused the Ford Escort to rest against a tree near the southwest corner of the intersection with pieces of debris from the other vehicle still attached. The Chevrolet Tahoe came to rest in the shoulder south of the intersection just off the southbound lane.
The accident is still under investigation.
