MENTONE — Bell Memorial Public Library will host the following events in June:
The library will be closed on Sundays for the summer.
Join the library for Story Hour at 3 p.m. every Wednesday and 10 a.m. every Friday. Children listen to a story, sing songs and make a craft.
The Bell Memorial Public Library 2018 Summer Reading Program begins Monday, June 4. It is open to all age groups. This year’s theme is “Libraries Rock.” The program runs from June 4 to July 13. You must have a library card to participate.
Join the library at 3 p.m. Monday, June 4 for Movie Monday. The movie is “Rock Dog.” Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
Kids, join the library at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, and make a rain stick. Sign-up is requested.
Teens and young adults, join the library on Thursday, June 7 and make a hand sewn earbud holder out of felt. Patterns vary.
As a part of the continued development of the library’s new Reading Garden, the library board is offering patrons an opportunity to purchase an inscribed paver brick to serve as a memorial for an individual, family, or business. Many bricks have been purchased so far and yours would certainly add to the area. These bricks may be inscribed with up to four lines.
Each line will contain up to 12 spaces, including blanks. A paver brick may be purchased for $100 each, and these bricks will be incorporated in the walkway throughout the outdoor area. These paver bricks will certainly serve as a wonderful and lasting memorial. Please contact Library Director Stephen Boggs at (574) 353-7234 or at [email protected] if you are interested in purchasing a memorial paver brick. Forms for the pavers are available on the library’s website at www.bellmpl.info.
New books coming to the library include “Clueless in the Kitchen” by Evelyn Raab; “The Complete Fibromyalgia Health, Diet Guide and Cookbook” by Louise S. McCrindle; “Crohn’s and Colitis” by Dr. Hillary A. Steinhart; “Death by Dumpling” by Viviam Chien; “Emergency Contact” by Mary H.K. Choi; and “Head Over Heels” by Jill Shavis.
Stop by and check out the following DVDs, including “Dear Dictator;” “Lazer Team 2;” “Genius;” “Red Sparrow;” “Samson;” and “Daphne and Velma.”
