BE SOMEONE’S SUPERHERO — Being someone’s hero doesn’t always involve a disguise, but rather a heart full of good intentions. Pictured are Evalynn Chupp and Khloe McIntyre. (Photo provided)
Children collect pledges for the American Cancer Society. They pledge to walk 30 minutes at the Walk-A-Thon at their school. During the event, they receive a bracelet with the theme of the year displayed on it. This year’s theme was, “I’m a cancer fighting superhero!” During the Walk-A-Thon, the children dance, walk and use noisemakers to “make noise to fight cancer.”
This is a great way for students to realize they can make a difference in their community.
