Heartline Pregnancy Center Receives Gift For Over 30 Years Of Service
KOSCIUSKO — K21 Health Foundation is continuing to celebrate its 30th year of serving the community by providing a $20,000 gift to Heartline Pregnancy Center.
K21’s Board of Directors selected Heartline to receive this gift in honor of the organization’s dedication to the community for more than 30 years. Since February 1985, Heartline has offered support and assistance to teens, women and their families as they face the uncertainties of an unplanned or troubled pregnancy.
All services provided by Heartline Pregnancy Center are free and confidential and include a 24-hour hotline, confirmation of pregnancy, mobile clinical services, information on pregnancy options available to parents, ongoing emotional support, and post-abortion syndrome emotional healing.
Other services provided to clients include maternity and infant clothing, and other infant items such as diapers and formula through the BABE Boutique program. They provide one-on-one mentoring programs to teens in the Kosciusko Community with regards to the risks of sexually transmitted diseases, unplanned pregnancies, and character-based abstinence programs.
“K21 has been a longtime supporter of several programs that Heartline provides our community and appreciates their dedication to Kosciusko County for more than three decades,” said K21 Health Foundation President and CEO Rich Haddad. “The unfortunate reality is that Indiana does not rank well on teen pregnancy rates, low birth weight averages, and infant mortality rates. Heartline Pregnancy Center in on the front line of these critical issues for young families in our community and they are committed to improve these areas of health for our residents.”
