Valley Baseball: Vikings Drop Two At Twin Lakes Tourney
MONTICELLO — Tippecanoe Valley’s baseball team went 0-2 at the Twin Lakes Tournament on Saturday, falling 12-6 to Lebanon and 11-1 to Twin Lakes in the second game.
The Tigers used nine runs over the third and fourth innings — including a six-run fourth — to put the opener out of reach of the Vikings, who rallied with three runs in the top of the sixth.
Lucas Walters batted in a pair of runs, and Drew Hartman doubled on his was to two runs scored for the Vikings in the loss to Lebanon. Adam Myers took the loss on the mound, giving up four hits and two walks for six runs over three innings, but only two of those runs were earned as the Tigers capitalized on six Valley errors for a total of 10 unearned runs.
Tyler Welborn homered and doubled on his way to three hits, three runs and four RBIs for Lebanon. Nick Bland got the pitching win, giving up two runs — neither earned — through four innings while working around two hits and three walks.
Valley was out-hit 10-4 in the loss to host Twin Lakes, meanwhile, Tanner Trippiedi collecting two of those hits and Tucker Shull scoring the Vikings’ only run in the 11-1 loss.
Ethan Luzadder and Cade Provo finished with two hits apiece for the Indians.
Shull got the loss, giving up five hits and two walks for four earned runs for Valley, which dropped to 6-15.
