Frank Allen Thorpe

MENTONE — A Mentone man was arrested after causing injuries to a woman that required her to be transported to the hospital.

Frank Allen Thorpe, 36, 9434 W. CR 500S, Mentone, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 6, officers responded to a domestic dispute report. A female subject, Thorpe’s girlfriend, stated that Thorpe became angry when he discovered she had been texting another male.

Thorpe became angry and grabbed the female by the neck, shoving her up against a wall. While holding her against the wall, Thorpe hit the subject on the head.

The female subject was transported by EMS for treatment of her injuries. One of the subject’s children stated she saw Thorpe put his hand around her mother’s neck and push her against a wall. Three other children were also present in the house during the domestic dispute.

Thorpe was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on May 18, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
