Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, North SR 15 and West CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: Austin J. Owens, 21, West CR 200N, Warsaw; Janet K. Miller, 71, EMS C28A Lane, Warsaw. Owens told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on SR 15 and was stopped a traffic light when traffic began to move ahead of him. He said Miller’s vehicle suddenly stopped in front of him and that he did not anticipate fast enough to avoid a rear-end collision. Damage up to $5,000.
3:08 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, Logan Street and West Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Madeline E. Kosins, 18, South Stonebridge Road, Warsaw; Jessica Monsivais, 17, Marion Avenue, Warsaw. Kosins told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on Logan Street and did not see the vehicle driven by Monsivais stop ahead of her, causing her to rear-end Monsivais’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
2:14 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, East Market Street and South Maple Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Natalia K. Plastow, 19, South Meadow Drive, Warsaw; Janice L. Craft, 52, East Washington Road, Pierceton. Plastow told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on South Maple Avenue approaching the stop sign at East Market Street. She said she did not come to a complete stop at the stop sign and her vehicle proceeded into the intersection, colliding with Craft’s vehicle, which had been traveling eastbound on East Market Street. Damage up to $5,000.
1:33 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Teresa D. Banghart, 51, West CR 800S, Claypool; Glenn P. Johnson, 72, North SR 19, Etna Green. Banghart told police she was driving her vehicle in the Meijer parking lot and was exiting the parking lot at Meijer drive. She said she did not see any vehicles in the vicinity on Meijer Drive and drove her vehicle out of the parking lot, which collided with Johnson’s vehicle. Johnson had been driving his vehicle southbound on Meijer Drive. Damage up to $5,000.
1:24 p.m. Monday, May 7, Market Street, west of Pine Street, Warsaw. Driver: Brandon Newcomer, 30, Franklin Street, Mentone. Newcomer was driving a municipal vehicle for the city of Warsaw. Newcomer forgot to retract the boom on the truck, which made contact with two separate telephone lines. This caused the lines to break and also caused the high tension power lines to activate a breaker. Damages up to $5,000.
