Honoring Sharon Fouts At Milford Public Library
In honor of Sharon Fouts, who passed away Saturday, April 21, library staff and board members will make contributions to the Milford Public Library Endowment Fund. We ask that you consider doing the same. Your donation will support the library Sharon loved and is part of the long range plan to keep the library in Milford forever.
Making a donation to purchase materials in Fouts’ memory is also an option. She was an avid reader. Fouts worked at the library for 15 years as a clerk. Even after she retired, Fouts continued volunteering at the library. Staff members will remember her for her wit, work ethic, and her wonderful angel food cake, and will miss her greatly.
Milford Public Library Hiring Summer Help
Milford Public Library is hiring summer help. The position is part-time, with 20 hours a week for 12 weeks beginning May 21. There are some evening and weekend hours, with pay set at $7.25 an hour. Apply in person at the Milford Public Library.
See The Library At Milford Fest May 26
The library will host a booth at Milford Fest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 26. All ages can donate one dollar to participate in a “music walk” to pick a prize. All donations collected support the Summer Reading Program. Please say hello to us at Milford Fest.
Summer Reading Begins June 4
Be sure to stop by the library on June 4 and sign up for our Summer Reading program. We have programming for everyone ages preschool through graduating seniors—Family Story Time, special events, teen activities and fun contests. Our theme this year is “Libraries Rock!” and we plan to do just that.
We have some terrific reading incentives you can earn by reading lots of minutes—food coupons, books, kazoos and other music makers. Participants will earn a chance to vote on their favorite community project. This year we are going to help the Milford School choir, band or orchestra with a project they have chosen to enhance their program. The group with the most votes at the end of the summer wins. Our Summer Reading program will be available to take home by May 29. Make plans to visit the library this summer.
Board Meeting
The Milford Public Library Board will meet to discuss ongoing business on Monday, May 21 at 5 p.m. in the meeting room. The public is welcome to attend.
