Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:41 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, West Crystal Lake Road and South CR 650W, Warsaw. Driver: Chris L. Rhoades, 55, South CR 675W, Warsaw. Rhoades told police he was driving his vehicle on Crystal Lake Road when a deer entered the roadway and struck his vehicle, causing damage that included breaking the glass window in the passenger’s side door. Damage up to $5,000.
5:34 p.m. Monday, April 30, South Country Club Road, north of East CR 300S, Warsaw. Drivers: Jamie M. Miller, 38, West CR 250S, Warsaw, Chelsie R. Bollhoefer, 30, South West Channel Road, Warsaw.Miller told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on Country Club Road and did not see the vehicle driven by Bollhoefer. Miller said she attempted a left turn and turned her vehicle into the path of Bollhoefer’s vehicle, causing the collision. Damage up to $10,000.
4:35 p.m. Monday, April 30, North CR 100E, south of East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Joshua D. Beckley, 21, Hickory Place, Goshen, Lesley M. Tayagua Lua, 17, West Hillside Drive, Syracuse. Tayagua Lua told police that she was driving her vehicle southbound on CR 100E when a dog ran into the path of her vehicle. She quickly applied her brakes to avoid hitting the dog and Beckley tried to stop his vehicle but could not avoid rear-ending Tayagua Lua’s vehicle. The dog’s owner was contacted and the dog was not hit during the incident. Damage up to $10,000.
2:43 p.m. Monday, April 30, North CR 500E and East CR 900N, Warsaw. Driver: Laura J. Zeigler, 58, EMS T46 Lane, Leesburg. Zeigler told police that while driving her vehicle, a deer ran into the roadway and she was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:59 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, North Lake Street and West Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Hannah R. Beliles, 25, North Franklin Street, Mentone, Preston W. Honea, 50, North SR 13, Leesburg. Beliles told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on West Fort Wayne Street and stopped at the stop sign on North Lake Street. She said she thought the intersection was a four-way stop and proceeded into the intersection and into the path of the vehicle driven by Honea, which was traveling northbound on north Lake Street. Honea was unable to avoid colliding with Beliles’ vehicle. Beliles complained of pain to her shoulder but refused medical treatment. Damage up to $10,000.
