BREAKING — One Seriously Injured After Smart Car Accident On US 30
WARSAW — At approximately 12:15 p.m. Friday, April 20, emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident in the westbound lane of US 30 near Silveus Crossing in Warsaw.
The accident occured between a blue Chrysler Sebring traveling westbound on US 30 and a red smart car turning left off of CR 150W. Both vehicles suffered significant damage.
A Lutheran Air medical helicopter arrived on the scene to transport the driver of the smart car, who was seriously injured. The helicopter was not used and the driver was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital by Lutheran EMS. Another person involved with the accident suffered minor injuries.
The Warsaw Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Department and Indiana State Police.
Westbound traffic on US 30 was completely stopped while the accident was cleaned up.
