Sydney Howard got it done both in the circle and at the plate as Tippecanoe Valley’s softball team topped Maconaquah 3-0 on the road Wednesday.
Howard tripled as part of a two-hit, two-RBI night, and she allowed five hits while striking out four and walking none in the complete-game shutout. Third basemen Taylor Czichilski and short stop Kayla Scott led the Lady Vikings’ errorless defense in the win.
Valley plated a run in the second and two more in the fourth. The Vikings were out-hit five to two but capitalized on five walks. Scott, Taylor Rogers and Amy Baca scored Valley’s three runs.
The Lady Vikings play a doubleheader at Adams Central Saturday, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
