At approximately 5 p.m., Atwood and Etna Green Fire Departments responded to a residential fire.

ATWOOD — At approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, Atwood and Etna Green Fire Departments responded to a residential fire at 7163 W. 200 N., Atwood.

A caller reported that a bed in the residence was on fire. A father and two children evacuated the building and were not harmed.

A dog and cat were in the residence at the time of the fire. Both were rescued.

Lutheran EMS and Etna Township First Responders were also on scene to assist.

Damages are estimated at up to $100,000.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
