Warsaw Man Arrested For Battering Pregnant Woman While Her Two Children Were Present
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after hitting a pregnant woman on the head multiple times while her children were present.
Valence Ceballos Jr., 33, 2575 E. Center St., room 219, Warsaw, is being charged with domestic battery to a pregnant woman, a level 5 felony; domestic battery with a child present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On March 24, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a domestic battery in room 219 of the Deluxe Inn. The officer arrived and spoke with Ceballos, who advised he had an argument with his girlfriend who is pregnant. Ceballos first told the officer that the female put her hands on him and later told the officer that the female had hit herself.
The female told officers that she got into an argument with Ceballos and he hit her two or three times on the head with a closed fist. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim reported she was still “seeing stars” and that her head hurt very badly. The female confirmed that she is pregnant and that two minor children were present in the room during the battery.
EMS checked the female for her injuries and found “a good-sized bump” on the back of her head from the battery.
Ceballos was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on March 24, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
