Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
3:33 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, North East Wawasee Drive, near East CR 1250N, Syracuse. Drivers: Linda K. Canaday, 70, North State Road 5, Cromwell, and Bill O. Comer, 51, East CR 1050N 20, Cromwell. Canaday stopped at a stop sign and proceeded into the intersection, not seeing Comer’s approaching vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
1:23 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, South Packerton Road, near East CR 400S, Warsaw. Drivers: Guy F. Miller, 63, West CR 900S, Akron, and Ashley K. Blackburn, 20, West Dogwood Street, Warsaw. Miller was traveling south on Packerton Road when he turned into the path of Blackburn’s vehicle. Blackburn and a 3-year-old passenger were transported to the Kosciusko Community Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Damage up to $25,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:46 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, North SR 15, south of West CR 1350N. Driver: Douglas L. Ruch, 57, East Catherine Street, Milford. Ruch was traveling north on SR 15 when wind and ice on the roadway caused his vehicle to go off the roadway, striking a utility pole. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:21 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, East Fort Wayne Street, north of North Detroit Street. Drivers: Scot A. Pettit, 29, North CR 450E, Syracuse, and Tommy Johnson, 34, Maye Street, Warsaw. Pettit was stopped in traffic, waiting for it to clear so he could turn. Johnson’s vehicle collided with the passenger side of Pettit’s vehicle. Pettit and his 3-year-old daughter were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for medical evaluation. Damage up to $25,000.
Marshall
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:17 a.m. Saturday, March 31, US 6, east of Queen Road, Walkerton. Driver: Beth Wetherill, Fort Wayne. Deer hit the driver’s side of the vehicle.
12:51 a.m. Friday, March 30, 100 block US 30 and SR 331, Bourbon. Driver: Alaen Christopher Medrano, 20, Plymouth. Police were advised of a wrong way driver on US 30, eastbound in the westbound lane, and that the driver had caused an accident on US 30, east of SR 331, leaving the scene. Occupants of the wrecked vehicle were evaluated by medics and no one was transported. The vehicle was located on Lincoln Highway, west of Beech Road. Medrano was booked for operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing bodily injury, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage by a minor.
