Warsaw Man Sentenced To Seven Years At Indiana Department Of Corrections
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was sentenced on charges of dealing methamphetamine Monday, April 2, in the Kosciusko Circuit Court.
Alonzo Esteban Villarreal, 37, 821 E. Smith Street, Warsaw, was found guilty of dealing methamphetamine, a level 4 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department was northbound on Detroit Street, Warsaw, on April 25 when he recognized a passenger in a vehicle as a male who had a felony warrant for his arrest.
The officer followed the vehicle to a bait shop and approached the men. At that time, the officer recognized Villarreal who also had a warrant for his arrest.
The officer observed the two men moving around. Upon removing the male passenger from the vehicle, officers found a plastic bag containing a white powder that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Under the seat, officers found a five dollar bill and a ten dollar bill with a white powdery substance that also tested positive for methamphetamine.
Officers then searched Villarreal and discovered a hypodermic syringe. According to the affidavit, Villarreal admitted to using the syringe to inject methamphetamine.
Judge Michael Reed sentenced Villarreal to seven years at the Indiana Department of Corrections. Reed ordered the first four years of the sentenced to be served and for the last three years to be suspended and served on formal probation.
Villarreal was ordered to make restitution to the Warsaw Police Department. He was given jail time credit of 150 days.
