Lambertus ‘Bert’ L. Egging
Lambertus “Bert” L. Egging, 65, Etna Green, died unexpectedly Friday morning, March 30, 2018, at his residence. He was born April 15, 1952, to Joseph and Wilma (Peters) Egging in Mishawaka.
He was a lifetime area resident and a 1970 graduate of NorthWood High School. On Feb. 14, 1981, he married Elaine Troyer in Nappanee. Mr. Egging was a lifetime dairy and grain farmer and milked cows for 48 years. He served on the Building and Grounds committee at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Bremen, where he was a member. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elkhart County 4-H Fair Board, and Nappanee Area 4-H Boosters Club. He was the leader of Nappanee Motivators 4-H Club and former leader for the Elkhart County Swine Club. He was president of Farm Bureau Inc. of Elkhart County.
Mr. Egging is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughters: Ashley (Chad) Lambright, Goshen; Mary (Justin) Dale, Carrie (Patrick) O’Keefe, both of Nappanee; grandchildren: Natalee, Gavin, Wyatt Lambright, Brayden, Madison Dale, Addyson, Thomas O’Keefe; sister, Debby (Robert) Ortiz, Wakarusa; and mother and father in-law, Marion and Dorothy Troyer, Goshen.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 Tuesday, April 3, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, where the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Bremen with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Fernando Jimenez will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.
