Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
8 p.m. Sunday, April 1, North Hartzler Street, north of North Hudson, Warsaw. Driver: Diana G. Snell, 63, Sophie Lane, Warsaw. Snell was traveling north on Hartzler Street and didn’t see a parked vehicle due to it being dark, causing her vehicle to rear-end the parked and unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
5:45 a.m. Saturday, March 31, Ryerson Road, west of South CR 900E, Pierceton. Driver: Haley M. Benedict, 18, Michaels Street, Warsaw. Benedict was traveling west on Ryerson Road when a deer entered the roadway. Benedict’s vehicle struck the deer. Damage up to $10,000.
1:07 p.m. Friday, March 30, South SR 15, north of West CR 200S, Warsaw. Drivers: Zackery W. Swope, 32, West Old Road 30 34, Warsaw, and Paul E. Welch, 77, South CR 700W, Mentone. Swope was traveling south on SR 15 when his vehicle began to drift into the northbound lane. Welch tried to avoid a collision, but the driver’s side of his vehicle was struck by Swope’s. Welch’s vehicle went off the roadway while Swope’s struck an embankment of a creek. Welch complained of neck pain and was transported by ambulance to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
7:12 a.m. Friday, March 30, West CR 600S, north of South CR 1000W, Mentone. Driver: Derek M. Arceneaux, 29, West CR 1200S, Akron. Arceneaux was driving northbound on CR 1000W when a deer ran into the roadway. Arceneaux’s vehicle struck the deer. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
11:16 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 3314 Lake City Highway. Driver: Rebeca Spears, 60, East Market Street, Warsaw. Spears didn’t notice a parked and unoccupied vehicle behind her as she backed out of a parking spot. Damage up to $2,500.
