Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:11 p.m. Sunday, March 18, Jalynn Street, west of Walton Blvd., Warsaw. Drivers: Richard A. Wroughton, 62, Glad Street, Warsaw, and Lidia O. Evangelista, 20, North 5th Street, Goshen. Wroughton advised he was pulling out of the main Walmart drive and was looking to his left toward the traffic light when his vehicle struck Evangelista’s vehicle. Evangelista stated she was traveling eastbound on Jalynn Street when Wroughton’s vehicle pulled out and struck her vehicle on the driver’s side. Damage up to $2,500.
Elkhart
Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
3:49 a.m. Saturday, March 17, Old CR 17, north of CR 45, Goshen. Pedestrian: Austin Delgado, 21, Kimmell. Delgado was struck by a hit and run driver that was on Old CR 17, north of CR 45, and then left the scene. Delgado was found dead in the middle of the roadway by a passing motorist.
3:57 a.m. Friday, March 16, SR 13, south of CR 20, near Middlebury. Driver: Derek Flynn, 28, Syracuse. Flynn’s vehicle struck the back of a bicyclist, Freeman Miller, 57, Middlebury. Freeman was wearing a reflective vest and had lights affixed to the bicycle. Freeman was pronounced dead at the scene.
