In the high school’s most successful year ever, Warsaw art students received 29 awards in the individual entry categories and four more awards in the senior portfolio category. Gold key winners go on for the next round of judging at the national level in New York.

In addition to the individual entries, the seniors in advanced placement studio art also submitted their complete portfolios for selection and it was our second year in the Fort Wayne Region after many years in South Bend. The portfolio is a chance for senior students to pull together their finest pieces and package them into a well-organized and thoughtful presentation of their body of work. These are considered for scholarship applications, entrance into fine art programs and become half of their AP portfolio for college credit.
Four of the senior portfolios made it into the exhibit, and were all awarded the Gold Key distinction. The students who accomplished this honor were Gage Hall, Audrey Hansen, Matthew Harstine and Madison Method.
The above students received special recognition at the awards presentation at the Grand Wayne Convention Center on Feb. 11, and the students’ works will be on display at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art until April 8.
