Erba Earns All-American Honors Again
WARSAW – Scott Erba is once again an All-American.
Erba, a WCHS teacher, has earned All-American honors from USA Triathlon.
Erba wa ranked as the No. 9 triathlete nationally in the 45-49 age group. Points for All-American honors are allotted based on the prestige and length of races.
Erba returned to competition in 2016 after a 12-year hiatus from triathlons. He earned All-American honors in 2016 upon his return to the sport.
Erba won a pair of national titles last August at the USA Triathlon National Championships in Nebraska. He won his age group titles in both the Olympic Distance and Sprint Distance.
Erba, the former girls cross country and track coach at WCHS, is focused in the 2018 season on qualifying for the Hawaiian Ironman World Championships in October. He plans to compete in the Ironman Santa Rosa (California) in May in order to try and land a spot in the World event.
Erba also plans to compete at the USAT Nationals in Cleveland in August in both the Olympic and Sprint races. He will also continue to take part in some local events, including the Optimists Triathlon in Winona Lake in June.
