Leesburg Man Arrested For Domestic Battery
LEESBURG — A Leesburg man was arrested after slapping a female victim during an argument about his drug habits.
James Daniel Cretcher, 29, 47 EMS B6C Lane, Leesburg, is being charged with domestic battery in the presence of a child, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Feb. 16, an officer with the Syracuse Police Department responded to a domestic battery complaint. The female victim advised that Cretcher had brought three children to her residence for a visit. The children were all in the living room playing.
Cretcher was talking with the female about a letter she had written to the court in regards to him smoking marijuana around the children. Cretcher became angry and slapped the female on the left side of her face. The officer was able to observe a red, swollen area on the left side of the victim’s face. One of the children was able to hear the altercation, but none of them saw it.
Cretcher was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 26, with a $3,750 surety and cash bond.
