Three Arrested In Connection With Jellystone Burglaries
KOSCIUSKO — Three men from Converse were arrested this morning in connection with 18 burglaries in Kosciusko County.
At approximately 11 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint of possible burglaries in progress at Jellystone Campgrounds near Pierceton. Staff at the campground received information about possible burglaries occurring at the location. One suspect was located on the property and was taken into custody at the 1916 North CR 850E Pierceton location. Two other suspects fled the scene of the burglaries and led law enforcement on a two county pursuit, which ended in a traffic crash in Whitley County on US 30 near CR 300W.
The burglaries were completed at 18 lots in Jellystone Campgrounds, with multiple items of property stolen. The property included electronics, coins and firearms.
Kenneth Sanchez, 19, Converse, was taken into custody at the Jellystone property.
A male subject was taken into custody and identified as Michael Chapman, 28, Converse. He was driving the vehicle involved in the pursuit. Thomas Ankrom, 29, Converse, was a passenger in the fleeing vehicle.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, North Webster Police Department, Pierceton Police Department, Warsaw Police Department, Columbia City Police Department and the Indiana State Police.
