Syracuse Library Presents February Days To Get Through Winter

SYRACUSE — Story times are back at the Syracuse Library, for three months, starting at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5. Activities for all ages are on Mondays and toddler activities will take place on Wednesday mornings. Three months of zoo stories will end with a trip to the Fort Wayne Zoo.
Friends will be organizing the cookie baking for the annual Valentine’s Craft Day during their meeting at 10 a.m. Feb. 1. The drop in cookie decorating day is Feb. 8. Come decorate a freshly baked sugar cookie. The friends group welcomes visitors to join them when they get an advance preview of library happenings. The friends will evaluate the success of the used book and soup sale that they sponsored during the Winter Carnival.
Registration is required to attend the Where Does Your Money Go workshop on March 6. During the month of February put your name on a list and plan to attend. Look at some common mistakes and misperceptions about spending money.
The Food from Fiction book club has selected the other three books for the winter meetings. The February book will focus on American cooking with Tony Morrison’s, Beloved. The other books are Kitchens of the Great Midwest and In Defense of Food.
Take Your Child to the Library is an annual day that reminds parents that spending time at the library is a quality activity. Stop in from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, to enter a flower decorating contest and a book drawing.
WorkOne is committed to offering full-service assistance in the Syracuse area. They are here from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. They have invited a representative from Polywood to offer local employment opportunities from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Easy chair yoga is continuing with a second year of free classes at 10:15 a.m. every Tuesday. The only requirement is to bring a towel and to wear comfortable clothing. The Thursday walk and yoga is cancelled, but continues on the other weeks in February.
