NORTH WEBSTER — Enjoy a fun morning out at Coffee and Canvas hosted by North Webster Community Public Library at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10. Kayla Hayden, artist and owner of The Happy Paint Brush, returns to provide step-by-step instruction for painting a charming winter farm scene. Cost of the workshop is $18 and includes an 11×14 canvas, painting supplies and refreshments. Advance registration with payment is due by Feb. 8 to take part. Sign up with friends or adult family members or come solo and unleash your inner artist.
Unleash the stress and tension of the day at Ladies Drum Circle at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7. Instructor Pirkko Miller teaches the techniques for meditative drumming and achieving its therapeutic benefits. Meeting the first Wednesday evening each month, Ladies Drum Circle will be accepting new members at its February and March sessions, then will close to new enrollments. drums are provided. Creative energy abounds the second Saturday each month when Lego Club meets at 1 p .m. in the Youth Department. Bring your child on Feb. 10, for some freestyle Lego building fun. All children, ages five to 12, are welcome with Legos provided. Children under age nine should be accompanied by an adult. In addition to having fun, playing with Legos also helps develop skills in creativity, problem-solving, lateral thinking and planning. Plus it’s a great way to spend quality time with your child.
When at the library, stop by the Check It Out Station and play the Hot Reads for Cold Nights Contest. Read a romance novel during February for a chance to win a prize.
