Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the followin gaccidents:
1:54 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, North Fox Farm Road and North CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Charles R. Fawley, 79, North Brookfield Circle East, Warsaw, and Joshua G. Goble, 30, West CR 700N, Leesburg. Fawley turned his vehicle into the path of the Goble vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
12:06 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, East CR 1300N and North Camelot Drive, Milford. Driver: Alexis M. Germann, 20, West Nottingham Drive, Nappanee. A turning semi tractor made a wide turn coming out of Maple Leaf Farms into her lane, she had to brake hard to avoid the semi causing her vehicle to slid on the ice road and slide down into a ditch. Damage up to $5,000.
11:24 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, East CR 1050N and North CR 350E, Syracuse. Driver: Destiny R. Keele, 33, East Raintree Road, Warsaw. Keele attempted to avoid a deer, vehicle slid on ice and snow and into a patch of trees. Damage up to $5,000.
4:34 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, West Crystal Lake Road, west of South CR 400W, Warsaw. Drivers: Cadence R. Bartz, 17, South Wray Street, Warsaw, and Nora G. Rodriguez, 32, West CR 250S No. 39, Warsaw. Bartz was westbound and went to pass another vehicle, when he attempted to get back into his lane, struck the Rodriguez vehicle head on. Bartz was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital with lower right leg, sternum and face pain. Rodriguez was taken to KCH with face, right hand, forearm, left leg and seatbelt pain. Passengers in the Rodriguez vehicle: Julian C. Ramirez, 9, Warsaw, complained of back pain; and Issac Ramirez, 8, Warsaw, suffered minor bleeding to face. Both were taken to KCH. Damage up to $50,000.
10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, SR 19, Akron. Driver: Gabrielle A. Olson, 17, Blackford Drive, Tippecanoe, and John L. Shirey, 66, West Shilling Road, Mentone. Olson’s vehicle slide on ice and hit the back of a school bus. Damage up to $10,000.
10:52 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, East CR 950N, west of North CR 700E, North Webster. Driver: Anthony A. Ryl-Kuchar, 47, East Backwater Road, North Webster. Ryl-Kuchar, operating a trash truck owned by Sweetheimers, slightly drove his vehicle off the roadway and when attempting to correct the vehicle, it crossed the roadway and hit a KREMC pole. Damage up to $50,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, US 30, east of North CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: John D. Poor, 611, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, and Thurman Messer, 56, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. The driver side tire on Poor’s vehicle fell off after going through the intersection and he safely drove off the side of the roadway. Messer’s vehicle struck the tire in the roadway, causing the tire on his vehicle to go flat. Damage up to $2,500.
12:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, Walton Boulevard and Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Driver: Isaiah J. Jenkins, 30, West Van Buren Street, No. 3, Nappanee. Jenkins was approaching the intersection with Walton Boulevard when a vehicle went through the intersection causing a collision and then left the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
