Valley Basketball: Lady Vikings Bounce Back
PERU — Tippecanoe Valley’s girls basketball team bounced back from a disappointing three-point loss at Rochester with a 76-29 rout of Three Rivers Conference foe Peru on the road Tuesday night.
The Lady Vikings (16-3, 5-2 TRC) had four players finish in double figures and knocked down 47 percent of their shots while jumping out to a 21-9 first period lead over the host Tigers (5-12, 2-4 TRC).
Sophie Bussard scored 18 points, Addy Miller added 16, Makenzie Woodcox notched 12 points, and Emily Peterson scored 10 for the victors. Asia O’Connor tallied eight points as every Valley player — nine total — made the scoring column in the win. Olivia Trippiedi passed out six assists and grabbed four steals in her second game back from illness, and O’Connor and Woodcox pulled down eight rebounds apiece. Peterson passed out five assists, Bussard recorded four, and Jillian Walls tallied three as Valley finished with 21 assists on 31 shots made.

Valley’s JV also beat Peru, 47-24. Sidney Wagner scored 17 followed by Emma Craig’s 12 and Haley Backus’ 10 in another balanced performance by the Vikings. Karina Young finished with seven points and Craig and Walls recorded five and four steals, respectively.
The Vikings take a break from TRC play as they host Pioneer Thursday night at 7:45 p.m.
