Kidd Arrested For Stealing Fuel From Farmer
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Henry Ray Kidd, 24, 501 E. 1300N, Milford, was arrested Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, on charges stemming from several incidents in December 2017. Kidd has been charged with two counts of theft, class A misdemeanors, that have been enhanced to level 6 felonies.
The enhancements are a result of Kidd being convicted in July 2017 on a theft charge.
Court documents report Jan. 5, an Indiana State Police Trooper spoke with Robert Bishop, Leesburg, who reported 50-70 gallons of diesel fuel had been stolen on four or five different occasions between Dec. 14 and 19.
Bishop told police Dec. 19, he conducted surveillance on the fuel tank and observed a truck pull up to the tank and begin fueling. When he approached the subjects, they fled in the vehicle, but he was able to provide information about the vehicle.
Police learned the vehicle was registered to Henry Kidd. Kidd told police Michael Ward and he stole the fuel from Bishop on five occasions and verified Dec. 19, Bishop did chase them. That theft occurred around 1 a.m. Ward verified the admission of Kidd.
The court document notes July 6, 2017, Kidd was convicted of theft in Kosciusko Superior Court 1, and June 18, 2014, he was convicted of conversion in Kosciusko Superior Court II. He also has an active criminal case for theft in Kosciusko Superior Court 3.
